Gentle Shepherd Hospice is a full service Hospice company. Owned and operated by Don & Kim Eckenroth. The company began 17 years ago in Roanoke with locations now in Lynchburg, Charlottesville and surrounding counties. We provide 24/7 care and services, with SAME DAY admissions. Early intervention is the key. Our goal is to improve the quality of a patient's last days, while providing symptom management and support, while also respecting the dying person's wishes. You are not alone when in Hospice. A team of Physicians, RN's, CNA's, Social Workers, Chaplains, & Volunteers are there to provide medical, emotional and spiritual support throughout the process. A 12 month Bereavement Care & Grief Support Group for all ages is available for our families, as well as professional counseling as needed. Medicare & Medicaid provide hospice benefits. As a matter of philosophy and practice, we provide hospice care to anyone who meets our hospice palliative care guidelines regardless of their ability to pay.
